Bet you were just
thinking, who is the leading social media influencer in the interactive murder
mystery dinner theater genre? After "Googling" it would seem that we
at Marriage
Can Be Murder are one of the top influencers... yikes! That is a
great responsibility and it is also terrifying. When you are in the lead and at
the top you spend the rest of your energy staying there or you will be bumped.
I prefer climbing to the top not fighting to stay there! There are many murder
mystery theater shows in the US. People seem to enjoy them and there are many
that have impressive accolades and resumes. Keith &
Margo’s Murder Mystery have been around since 1985 and was much of
our influence as we worked with them in the 1990’s when we were at Suspects
Dinner Theater in Old Sacramento. With only 81 followers on Twitter
and only 895 likes on Facebook it would seem like someone murdered Keith &
Margo’s social media presence. Leading the pack is The
Dinner Detective which have a good website and decent Facebook page at 10,863 likes and a new Instagram
account with 96 followers and a filled with potential Twitter
page. However, the interaction for the many sites I visited is
minimal. The mystery is why they do not branch out and explore the dynamic
world of social media? You can’t really call yourself interactive without it
now, can you? So we may remain on top for just awhile until they solve their own mystery.

Marriage Can Be Murder Celebrates 15 Years in Las Vegas!
This week marks the 15th Anniversary of our show! We did write a column as a
guest writer for Robin
Leach of The Las Vegas Sun last month giving a brief history of our exciting
and evolving Vegas run. You can read it here.
The guest write-up was a top
read for Las Vegans coming in at number 5 for that week.
We are so excited to celebrate the shows amazing milestone. It was
noted begrudgingly but good-naturedly by our amazing local entertainment critic
Mike Weatherford’s blog
in The Las Vegas Review Journal this week. We have many media, social media and
live events scheduled for this entire week. Something for everyone! Our award
winning comedy dinner show, which runs seven nights a week, will have two live
media nights this week and a concierge night at the transformed D Casino & Hotel our home. We even created and filmed an all
cast YouTube video of a cover of the
recent hit pop song “All about the Bass” by Meghan Trainor that releases
September 24th! There is even a small cameo of the hotels owner Derek Stevens!
It was interesting trying to think of where our time would be best spent reaching our fans and potential future audience members this week to announce our celebration. What media would be the most effective? In a town that is saturated with shows and options galore we had to figure out a way to reach our audience. The age range is 7-107! Our brand is interactive comedy who-dunnit theater. Our reach is far and wide and the world is connected as never before but our dilemma was what media would be the most effective for the milestone? Our unanimous answer to that was all of them traditional and modern! So suffice it to say we will be promoting everywhere. Newspaper, Radio, TV, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Google +, Pinterest and YouTube our heads are swimming with the sheer magnitude of it all! We even created a twitter hashtag #MCBM15YEARS. With all of this fanfare and celebration and effort our prayer is that we reach as many as we can with a simple message. Come try our show and a great big thank you for all who have.
