I am currently reading the Bible in 90 days. I am on Day 38. This is my second time reading it through in 90 days. I am currently in the book of Job,( pronounced Jobe) I should be done August 15th. This task is not about being done but rather absorbing spiritual insight. Did you know you could read the entire Bible in 90 days? That's right only 12 pages a day... I love the Bible. It is a compelling narrative. It is rich with humanity, history, humor, adventure, faith, heroes, valor, love, hate, war, family, spiritual insight, evil, good, espionage, betrayal, redemption and on an on and on it goes. I know every time I read it, it changes me. I can see myself in many of the characters and I appreciate the life lessons it teaches. Have you ever read the Bible from cover to cover? Why or why not?

Teaching Takes Time

Hello Friends, Today was a day of instruction. I was teaching a new volunteer and my son, who has procrastinated studying for a test. Two different kinds of teaching and two different students but teaching nonetheless. Teaching others to do what you know, or what they need to know can be daunting. It really depends on your teaching style and the student. My volunteer was a great student...my son not so much. Glad I didn't home school. I would have gone insayne!
If you love to share your insight and delight in teaching it to others it can be awesome. However it does have it's drawbacks. You may have to slow down. For fast people like me it takes extra effort and time to communicate and instruct clearly, succinctly and thoroughly. Isn't it just faster to do it yourself?
I do want to be a teacher one day that's why I am pursuing my masters. I was thinking about what kind of teacher I will be. It started me thinking about my teaching style. I teach people everyday. I teach people how to treat me by how I treat them. I am able to take large concepts and put them in bite size pieces for some bite size can choke.
I want to believe that I am a patient and kind teacher. Trying to see it from the perspective of the person who doesn't know what you know can be good starting point. If you had to teach one person everything you know how would you go about it? I think the key of being a good teacher is in this question: Are you teachable? If I'm not teachable how can I teach.

First Blog

Hello Friends, Today is the day I enter the blogosphere. I am not sure how this will all turn out but I am pretty sure I am supposed to do this. Have you ever felt that way? I am an actress comedian who performs in a murder mystery dinner show in Las Vegas with my husband Eric. Our show is called '"Marriage can be Murder." We have been in Vegas for 11 years. The show is 7 nights a week at The Fitzgeralds Casino in downtown Las Vegas. I perform 2-3 nights a week as D.D. the hostess. My husband plays the cop. I love making people laugh and enjoy performing. By day I am a pastor..yep that's right...you heard me... during the week I help people navigate their spiritual lives. Helping them to take steps ever closer to God. I also emcee & host slot tournaments as my alter ego D.D. Seeing as I have so much free time as you can playnely see, I also attend Harvard Extension School where I plan to complete my masters in business.
I have been told that I have a very unique perspective on life and that I should blog about it. Today was my intro... who knows what will be next..cause that's how I roll...
Peace
